Project Manager
Position Description
The Project Manager is responsible for successful execution of projects, defined as a temporary endeavor undertaken to improve or implement process solution or improvement. This position provides a liaison role between the project stakeholders and project teams, developers, and consultants. The role requires the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment, manage customer expectations, oversee internal teams, assess and mitigate risks and ensure on-time and high quality delivery. The Project Manager must possess strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in networking within the consultant and client communities. A strong background in planning, coordinating, and managing scope is key to success. This position requires a highly organized and detailed self-starter who has the ability to perform the required duties with minimal direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interface directly with customers to define and manage the scope of a project, lead team to develop a charter and communication plan.
- Support Project Team through all phases of project including initiation, definition of scope, process mapping, project plan development and management, issue resolution, development and testing, implementation, measurement, and closing.
- Communicate project status to project team and all customers and stakeholders of the project.
- Manage handover to process owners upon implementation and coordinate appropriate support activities to ensure smooth transition and project closing.
- Coordinate appropriate project documentation and closing including documenting lessons learned.
- Examine and understand customer operations, analyze complex problems, interpret operational requirements, and develop integrated solutions.
- Oversee on-time delivery of all aspects of project implementation and escalate issues appropriately.
- Document Software Validation actives within each Project.
- Mentor associates on techniques for preparing, managing and leading projects through training and/or on-site project activities.
- Allocate work among appropriate resources. Motivate resources and department heads to deliver on agreed quality standard, on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with project resources functional managers to manage project related activities and hand-off at project closing.
Qualifications
- Proven project management skills including Microsoft Suite proficiency.
- Established track record in on-time project delivery
- Risk management experience
- Demonstrated success in project management and team leadership
- Excellent written/oral presentation and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and adapt in a rapidly changing environment and prioritize continuously shifting deliverables
- Overnight travel
- CPIM, CIRM, ASQ, PMP Certification a plus
- College degree and/or 1-3 years experience preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Visio required; JDEdwards or similar ERP, Business Objects/Crystal Reports, SharePoint a plus!
