Ascent is committed to leading our industry’s sustainability efforts, pioneering new ideas and fulfilling its corporate environmental responsibility to both our community and the hospitals we serve. Ascent served as a "Partner for Change" in the Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E) initiative, and is now an active partner with Practice Greenhealth. Our participation includes educating and encouraging our partner hospitals to become members, and we share in the goals of Practice Greenhealth, with whom we collaborate in education, consulting, and service activities to promote the development of more healthy hospitals.
The scope of our environmental programs includes: (1) Assisting our customers with waste reduction through our Advantage™ collection and recycling program, (2) Implementing internal recycling programs and, (3) Seeking new and innovative ways to meet our goals of minimizing medical waste. Ascent believes that conservation, reduction, reuse and recycling are cornerstone programs, that implemented internally and in partnership with like-minded hospitals, will best serve our communities and safeguard our environment.
